One To One Coaching

 

One of the greatest investments you can make is in your own development. Personal growth can be transformational and coaching is a powerful, focused and impactful method of enabling change. Coaching increases awareness, choices, performance and clearly results.

I am passionate about people and seeing them evolve, increase awareness and make choices to beome whom they most desire to be. My coaching style is influenced by my deep compassion for my clients, my extensive commercial experience, and my strategic thinking capability.

When individuals first come to coaching it can be because recent experiences not been satisfactory and they choose coaching support to help them discover new ways of being and working. It may be they realise something needs to change, improve or be enhanced. It might be that they have a gut feeling or an intuition that something is not quite as it could be and is causing them some form of discomfort.

It may be a feeling of being ‘stuck’, a frustration, or feelings of going back and forth with no obvious progress being made. At this point of transition, engaging a coach and working together identifies the essence of the problem.

Following an initial discussion to identify overall aims and objectives, we create a personal coaching alliance in which you set the agenda for the sessions and I create the environment in which you can think, learn and grow. I encourage clients to set goals which are energising, expansive and in line with their values and beliefs.

Programmes can be individual driven or agreed with a sponsoring organisation where appropriate.

Sessions are available face to face, by telephone or Skype, or a combination of these as appropriate.

Themes vary and can be:

  • Leadership in a challenging, changing, fast paced environment
  • Just been promoted and finding it tough
  • Overcoming confidence issues
  • Purpose, working with core values and beliefs
  • Developing good relationships with peers and team

Key coaching elements

Once a relationship based on trust and rapport is established, we challenge thinking and assumptions to support the individual in their goal setting. Key elements of the coaching include:

A short introductory meeting or call to understand the individual’s context and goals. The coaching process and confidentiality are discussed and this meeting provides an essential ‘chemistry check’ to ensure a strong relationship will develop.

Defining the individual’s coaching objectives encompasses both short term goals and longer term aspirations. Where appropriate the individual’s manager will be included in a three way meeting at the outset and on completion of coaching.

Flexible structure The format will be determined by the client’s agenda and needs, but often 4-6 sessions lasting one to two hours spaced 3-5 weeks apart.

Bespoke interventions to raise awareness, reflect on strengths and challenges, and focus action. Some tools and methodologies can be utilised to ensure the desired outcomes are achieved (including Clarity 4D profiling tool and positive psychology).

Ongoing support added value of phone and email support that the client can tap into as required.
